Her fiancé lay in wait for her and took her home, where they sat down for a heart-to-heart talk. He casually inquired how her parents managed to earn such huge amounts of money. Ira laughed drunkenly and said it was none of his business, but he could become a partner.
She promised that if he was a “good boy,” they would transfer part of the business to him.
“A very interesting part,” Ira giggled, hinting at secrets. Alexander became curious about which part she meant. “He who knows too much rests in the forest,” the girl said, putting a finger to her lips, which immediately alerted the young man. He tried to find out what forest she was talking about, but Ira waved it off.
Then he started asking about the business itself, pretending to be envious of their wealth.
He sighed that he still had to work hard and expressed fear that she would leave him because of his poverty. “Let me talk to your parents, I’m ready to become a partner tomorrow,” he insisted. “Tomorrow won’t work, they have a shipment,” Ira blurted out, and then realized she had said too much.
Although she changed the subject, the young man already had the necessary leads. He hoped this information would be enough to put the family behind bars.
The law enforcement officers decided to tail Ira’s parents on that very day, and they were not mistaken. They caught the couple receiving a large shipment of illegal substances.
As a result of a search of the warehouse, they found pre-packaged bags hidden among the food products. The company producing semi-finished goods was just a front, as you can’t make that kind of money on dumplings.
