Arthur and Leo returned to the park for the first time.

— You ready? — Arthur asked, squeezing Leo’s hand.

Leo nodded. He walked to the water’s edge, looking out at the lake that had haunted his dreams. But today, it looked different. It wasn’t dark or cold. It was just water.

Leo leaned down, picked up a flat stone, and skipped it across the surface. One, two, three times. He looked up at his father and smiled.

— I’m not scared anymore, Dad, — he said quietly.
