Shadow in the hallway: what the wife accidentally saw in the mirror

— Because I’m your wife, and I don’t like that you’re drinking.

Stas was taken aback. Then he said:

— Well, it’s not for long. Sonya is healthy now, so there’s no reason to stay with a disabled person.

Tanya straightened up:

— Did you mean to say, with an idiot?

— Stas, I thought you were strong, smart, that you could do anything. I couldn’t have been wrong about you.

He lowered his head:

— I’m sorry, I guess I couldn’t handle it.

— But I’m home now. Maybe we should try again?

The year was coming to an end. Ivan Petrovich was very nervous. Stas had just started to stand on his own. He couldn’t walk yet, but the doctors said that at this rate, he would be running. And Tanya… she would have to leave soon. Maybe offer her more money?

Tanya, Sonechka, and Stas in his wheelchair came into the room for dinner.

— Dad, we have news for you.

He looked at them frightened, then only at Tanya:

— You’re leaving, aren’t you?

Tanya and Stas exchanged glances. Tatyana shook her head:

— Not exactly.

— Don’t keep me in suspense!

— You’re going to be a grandfather soon, and Sonechka will have a little brother or sister.

Ivan Petrovich was silent for a long time, and then he just started to cry. He hugged them all and cried.
