Shadow in the hallway: what the wife accidentally saw in the mirror

— You must be joking. — Tatyana looked at Ivan Petrovich with wide eyes.

He shook his head:

— No, I’m not joking. But I’ll give you time to think. Because the proposal is indeed unusual. I even understand what it’s associated with in your mind. Think it over, weigh everything, and I’ll drop by in a week.

Tanya watched him go with a bewildered look. She couldn’t even wrap her head around everything he had just told her. She had known Ivan Petrovich for three years.

He owned a chain of gas stations and something else. And at one of these gas stations, Tanya worked part-time as a cleaner. Ivan Petrovich always greeted and talked to the employees with a smile. Generally, he was a good man. The salary at the gas station was decent, and many people wanted to work there.

And so, about two months ago, Tanya was sitting outside after cleaning. She had some free time — just one more clean-up before the end of her shift, and she was free. The back door opened, and Ivan Petrovich came out.

— May I sit?

Tanya jumped up:

— Of course, why are you asking?

— And why did you jump up? Sit down, I don’t bite. Nice weather today.

Tanya smiled and sat back down:
