Shadow in the hallway: what the wife accidentally saw in the mirror

— Tanya, listen to Dad. Sonya will be able to live without attacks.

— Is it expensive?

Ivan Petrovich looked at her in surprise:

— That question shouldn’t concern you at all. You’re family.

Tanya was in the hospital with Sonya. The operation went well, and they were promised that in two weeks they would definitely be home. Home… And Tanya now didn’t understand where her home really was. Stas called often, and they would talk for a long time. With her, and with Sonya, and just in general. It seemed to Tanya that they had known each other for a hundred thousand years.

But time went on. The year would end quickly, and what then? Tanya didn’t even want to think about it yet.

They returned home in the evening. Ivan Petrovich came to pick them up. And he was quite gloomy.

— Did something happen?

— I don’t even know how to say it. Stas has been drinking for two days.

— What? He doesn’t drink at all.

— Just like that. He worked out on the machine for a month, then had a fit and said nothing was working.

Tanya entered the room. Stas was sitting in the dark. She turned on the chandelier and began to clear everything off the table.

— Where are you going with that?

— You won’t be drinking anymore.

— Why is that?
